Kilmannan Novice Ridden Competition.

This competition has run very successfully for around 14years now. It was originally introduced, and still the spirit of the competition is to provide exhibitors the opportunity of entering a true novice pony into a Novice Ridden competition in Scotland. We would like to clarify a rule within the competition, rule 3:-

For the Novice Classes - Ponies must wear a snaffle bridle and must not have won a 1st in an Open M & M or breed class prior to Jan 1st 2010.

The definition of an Open class is a REGISTERED Mountain and Moorland or breed ridden class that does not mention the words Novice, Junior, Lead Rein, First Ridden within the class description. The description may not necessarily include the word Open.

We do hope this guidance is of help to exhibitors when deciding if your pony is eligible, or no longer eligible for the Kilmannan Novice Competition. This competition has been the start for many successful ponies in Scotland, and we urge competitors to please maintain the true spirit of this competition.
